Lt. Gen. Paul Malong Awan's Public message

Fellow citizens, ladies and gentlemen,

Welcome and thank you for visiting my campaign website.

I am truly privileged to address you on this historic moment of our nation’s history.

In this election campaign, there are lots at stake. It will primarily determine the political future of the Sudan,

particularly the destiny of the marginalized communities of which Southern Sudan is a part.

Despite all confusions being manifested since the start of the campaign,

I am calling on all of you to remain vigilant and focused on vision and mission of which we took up arms

against the oppressive and successive regimes in Khartoum.

It has indeed been a long way coming to where we are today. We are a few months away from freedom

which will require all of us to remain united and collectively work for a common cause.

Fellow citizens, the freedom we are about to realized was bought very dearly.

Millions of our best men and women voluntarily accepted the call of liberation and lied down their precious lives

in order to liberate current and future generations. Therefore, it’s our sole duty to ensure that the cause they died

for is never betrayed and lost.

Compatriots, when we vote in April, we should remember those who dearly paid for this peace and freedom.

I know there are and will be confusions from those who have unfortunately forgotten the cause and fallen to the traps laid

by the enemies of peace and freedom. These people will try to create confusion and division among us.

But we should remember that the cause is far greater than our individual interests.

Dear comrades, I would like to remind all of you that these elections are directly tied to upcoming referendum scheduled

to take place in January 2011. For the referendum to be successful, SPLM needs to have a sizable majority at all levels

of government. Therefore, I am appealing to all of you to vote for the SPLM Candidates. Let me also remind you that

a vote for SPLM is a vote for prosperity, unity, freedom, peace, and security. Please:

Vote for cde. Yasir Seid Arman for President of the Republic of the Sudan

Vote for Cde. Salva Kiir Mayardit for the President of GOSS

Vote for Cde. Paul Malong Awan for Governor of NBGS

Vote for all SPLM Candidates across the Country

SPLM Oyee!

Unity of our people Oyee!

Freedom of the Marginalized peoples Oyee!

Development, prosperity, peace and security Oyee!

Thank you for reading this message and God bless you all.
